About the event

With Women's History Month right around the corner in March, NATIVE, Inc. is excited to reach out with a special invitation to our female relatives! This year, NATIVE, Inc's March Newsletter and media pages will be dedicated to celebrating and elevating women leaders, and we'd be honored to feature your inspiring journey or your honored relatives. This is a chance to celebrate the Native women who have paved the way in our Indigenous communities in North Dakota or South Dakota.

We want you to share these achievements and leadership stories that have inspired you and truly stand out, and at NATIVE, Inc. we're passionate about sharing Native stories of remarkable women like you. We see our Indigenous people living in the urban communities of North and South Dakota as our relatives, and we would like to elevate our women who have setup the foundation and pave a new path forward for our future generations to succeed. We would like to show case 15 Native women who are honorable and/or successful!

Eligibility:

  • 18 years or older (provide age on a written letter or in the email)
  • Living in North or South Dakota (provide address on a written letter or in the email)
  • Enrolled in a Tribe (provide Tribe in your bio)
  • Proven to be an honorable and/or successful Native woman (provide in your bio)

For a chance to be selected and take advantage of this “free” offer, simply email the project coordinator: Amber: amber@ndnadc.org with the following information and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach her by phone call or text message at her work cell: 701-877- 2748.

If you are interested or would like to nominate someone, we will need for you to submit the following items no later than Friday, February 23, 2024:

  1. A professional or honorable photo of yourself or the Native woman you are nominating.
  2. A short bio with two paragraphs to a half a page on you or the Native woman you are nominating. Here are some questions to ask yourself or the woman you are nominating:
  • First, last name, Tribal affiliation, School affiliation, how have you or the honored women in your life impacted our tribal communities as a mother, sister, care giver, friend, and/or career/professionalism (e.g., nurse, doctor, lawyer, teacher, artiest, musician, dancer, pilot, military service etc.) What makes you or the Native woman, someone we should know and be recognized across the state of ND?
  • Contact information for yourself or of the Native woman you nominate.

If you are selected, we will:

  • Bio/Photo and article will be in our newsletter
  • Bio/Photo and article will be on our website www.ndnadc.org
  • Backlink to your website (if you have one)
  • Bio/Photo and article will be submitted to ND & SD Tribal Newspapers
  • Inclusion in a LinkedIn post about Women's History Month
  • Bio/Photo and article will be posted onto all of our social media platform
