Peer support specialists (PSS) utilize their lived experience to assist others on their journey to recovery and wellness. One’s recovery journey and lived experience can be from numerous realms such as substance use disorders, mental health disorders, brain injuries etc. Through shared understanding and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help others become and stay engaged in the recovery process by using their lived experience, and skills learned in formal Peer Support training. Peer Services focus on long-term recovery and wellness, and are rooted in a culture of hope, health, and wellness. Peer Support Services are essential ingredients in developing a recovery-oriented system, and go beyond the reduction or elimination of symptoms to encompass self-actualization, community, and overall wellness
The Culture and Arts Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, and delivers culturally grounded arts, language, education, and community programming for Native American youth and families in Fargo. The position works closely with Native artists, cultural bearers, Tribal language instructors, volunteers, community partners, and NATIVE, Inc. staff to provide safe, inclusive, and well-organized activities, events, and classes.
Care Coordinator (CC) is part of a multidisciplinary team who serves as the bridge between behavioral health services, the criminal justice system, and human services, human service zones, and many other resources in the Devils Lake regional area. As a care coordinator you will have regular meetings with individuals involved in the Community Connect program. The bottom line of a Care Coordinator is to ensure clients obtain peer support once per week, conduct monthly care plans and meet monthly outcomes. This involves connecting clients to medical health, mental health and/or substance abuse treatment, human services, parole and probation, housing, employment, legal, educational, peer support and all other essential community-based needs and ensure follow-through has taken place for clients. This position focuses on serving the Devils Lake regional area Devils Lake (Region 3). Most of the reservation sits in Benson County, with other parts reaching into Eddy and Ramsey counties. Since these three counties are all part of Region 3, the entire reservation is covered.
